Mounting A Hangboard On A Concrete Wall

If you mount it to a piece of plywood the screws would only be holding on to 3 4 technically 23 32 d i would use 1 4 or 3 16 x 2 1 4 or longer tap con screws in each of the mounting holes.
Mounting a hangboard on a concrete wall. Use the butt of your leatherman or your knuckles or an actual stud finder to tap the wall all across the doorframe horizontally and locate the studs. This is especially important if you weight more than 150 pounds. Line up the hangboard holes with the 2 4 mini studs. Repeat this process until you have put in 6 screws 4 in each corner and 2 in the middle along the top and bottom.
All together now all kinds of wall join in. 3 put the battoning underneath and drive screws straight in. Put a wall plug over the end of a 3 screw and bang it into the wall with a hammer and tighten up. Personally i would install the hangboard directly to the concrete.
While this offers great security you may not have this option. Traditional mounting requires one to screw holes into the wall and fasten the hangboard in place. Use 3 flat head screws to attach the hangboard through the plywood and into those boards. However some of the more solid options can be used virtually anywhere.
